FIG 2: Service menu
Select the menu option: 4 Start Windows (Service Mode)
Then select the menu option:
Standard Windows (without starting SINUMERIK HMI)
The PCU restarts
When prompted to enter "Password:" Enter your service password (default: SUNRISE)
This password authorizes you to make extensive changes to the control. The password must be entered in upper case letters
After the PCU has booted in service mode you can configure MS Windows components
As the operator panel keyboard is not very comfortable for PC users it is recommended to use an external keyboard and a mouse when working in Service Mode
To further simplify setup tasks you can also enable 'Remote Desktop' at the controller and access it from a remote PC. To do so right click 'My Computer', select 'Properties' followed by tab 'Remote'. In section 'Remote Desktop' and check 'Allow users to connect remotely to this computer'.
At the remote PC use the controllers IP-Address + user name e.g. 192.168.1.100\auduser to connect to the device. Please make sure the controller runs in Service Mode!
